WIZARDING SCHOOLS AROUND THE WORLD: CHINA

Hello! I’m asking all my favorite artists this, and you are one, so~~ can you please tell me how you draw the eyes? I find them to be so hard!

ok so eyes are pretty easy once you’ve figured out your style and how you like to draw them. getting to that point is actually pretty hard though, so don’t worry about struggling at first! i always say that lots of practice makes things easier over time, and this definitely applies here.

first off it might help to think of eyes as really basic shapes. even drawing out those shapes will help you define what you want them to look like and where you’d like to place them. once you get that down, you’ll have a vague understanding of what you’d like the final product to look like, so actually sketching them out will come a bit easier later on.

the way i draw my eyes is pretty boring tbh gjfkhgkd so i’ll just to a basic step by step sketch thingy to help you out! hopefully it’s clear enough on it’s own.

i pretty much start with the top lash, and from that i gauge how i want the eye to look. then i draw the eye itself, then the lower lash, then i work on defining details like the lid, eyebrow, and skin underneath.

i’ve been drawing so many Link’s recently that these eyes all look super Linkish omfg. bye.

Do you have any advice for drawing top hats and the such? I have characters with top hats and drawing them is a pain because I can’t tell why they don’t look right or how to fix it, and yours look so nice and just wondered if you had any techniques you used to make it easer?

Aaaa, thank you, anon! I have to warn you, just because my top hats look nice, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the most accurate ones! They’re far from it actually haha. But at least they look decent for the most part faljdsg.

Here’s how I usually draw top hats!

Hats can be tall and thin, or short and stout. But this is a general shape I use for top hats! ;3;/

I painted this yesterday. I have suddenly fallen in love with amethysts. I just really like the color of them. Dark violet seems to be my current favorite color….

This was really experimental. I don’t draw that much random shit anymore, and I haven’t touched ink or watercolors for ages. But I guess it turned out pretty well. There will be postcards of this at Tracon as well.

  • breath in for 4 seconds
  • hold your breath for 7 seconds
  • exhale breath for 8 seconds

repeat once or twice more.

This causes an autonomic nervous system shift from a sympathetic (fight or flight reaction) state to a parasympathetic response.

Use this for panic/anxiety attacks, exams, presentations.
