i really miss those depictions of vampires where they actually looked “creepy” but not “creepy” as in the exact same as modern vampires but just with fangs and blood constantly splattered on them
like i miss those depictions of vampires where they. ya know. look like dead people. and had those HUGE teeth, off-colored eyes, long ears, long fingers, etc etc like the only times u see vamps like that are in horror movies but like gimme a love story w/ a creepy looking vampire like that, i’d LOVE to see it
like its the same w/ werewolves to……i miss depictions of werewolves where they were either huge, furry bipedal wolf monsters or where they’d look long + lanky and very unsettling, like a VERY creepy wolf/human hybrid that has legs too long for a wolf but cant stand properly like a human
like…….dang. i know i sound like a “damn these new age movies!!!” person but i really wish people would go all out when trying to make monsters look diff from how they’re usually depicted – and like mentioned above, not limited to horror settings too!!! i’d love to see a romance movie w/ a creepy looking vampire or werewolf
and mermaids too!!!! like mermaids usually are beautiful no matter who depicts them, but tbfh ive always been SUPER fond of mermaids that dont look like a human but w/ a fish tail, but who have unnaturally colored eyes, a nictitating membrane [that third eyelid that a lot of sharks/birds/seals have], and other fins aside from just a tail-fin….mermaids w/ big ole teeth who sound pretty terrifying above water but beautiful underwater, who freak people out bc they think they’re sharks when in reality it’s just a mermaid investigating wtf humans are up to
